3rd Hair Cut

Euan not enjoying his haircut at a neighbourhood hairsalon. This is the first time trying out instead of bringing the kids to Junior League. The haircut for him was $5! (compared to $20 at JL) Tessa told me that she will NOT cry if its her....well.....we shall see!

4th & Last Pneumococcal Jab

Brought Euan down for his 4th & last dose of pneumococcal jab on 19 Nov 09, Thursday around noon time. I am very glad that once again, he did not have any fever after the jab....next jab will be chicken pox and MMR...not sure whether I will give him 2 separate jabs or 1 combined jab.......

Backpack

I have been wanting to get a bag for Euan for quite some time but kept slipping out of my mind! When I needed it in several occasions, I can only find the many pink and girly bags for Tessa. A boy definitely cannot carry a girly bag for sure! I was very happy to find this Thomas the Train backpack at a shop near my office last week! It cost $8.90. Not sure whether it is cheap or expensive...but for the convenience...I am happy...so are Euan and Tessa! Both got so excited when they saw it!

Swimmy, Frederick & Inch by Inch

Thanks to Lynn again for helping me get tickets so that I could bring Tessa to catch this really interesting play. Tessa absolutely loved it! :) I was unable to take picture with 3 of the kids together which is clear...... but managed to capture it on video instead when they were having fun!

Lunar Calendar - Euan's 1st BD

Prepared a bowl of mee sua with drumstick and 2 red eggs on Euan's lunar 1st BD. Also prepared some items for him to pick...all just for fun as i also did it for Tessa. However, Tessa was so much more cooperative... see here http://tessa-n-euan.blogspot.com/2008/05/2-may-08-friday-lunar-birthday.html

Toothpaste

Been lazy and never bother to change to flouride toothpaste for tessa as I stock up so many tubes of the Baby First Teeth toothpaste previously. Finally, I remembered to visit Watson and bought a tube of kids flouride toothpaste.
We were so proud of her, she is able to rinse and spit within the 1st few tries! Well done Tessa!

Rash

We were surprised to see Euan's post-fever rash abt a day after his fever subsided....Tessa never had any post-fever rash before...

Claudia's 1st Birthday Party

As Euan was down with fever, we were unable to attend Yu Qi's birthday party. However, I managed to bring Tessa to Claudia's party which we made it in time for the cake cutting! It was also nice to see Caden and Clara, Rachelle and Zachery again. Tessa had fun playing with the many toys in Claudia and Charlene's toys room! Thanks for your invite Sharon!

Fever

After visiting the TCM place for 2 days, Euan came down with fever on the 3rd day. That was 2 days after he was once again biten by mozzies (not sure what is it). They were all swollen! I was worried it was dengue...hence, by the next morning, we went to KKH emergency (as it was Sunday), to get him checked. The doctor was unable to confirm whether his fever was due to the bites, or he caught something as he does not have any other symptom other than high fever. So we were sent home with antibiotic cream for his bites and some oral antibiotics which we are to start only if the swell did not subside after 2 days. As he was having high fever, we had to miss Yu Qi's birthday party. However, I managed to bring Tessa to attend Claudia's birthday party which was held later in the afternoon.
Poor Euan...his fever went up as high as 39.9 degrees! Eventhough we gave him a lukewarm shower and a cold sponge, his temperature just kept going up. In the end, I decided to turn off the fan and let him walk around and play. With that, he started to perspire and his temperature started to drop. On Tuesday morning, we brought him to consult Dr Ngiam just in case. By then, his fever was very mild. His fever was gone completely by Wednesday. Luckily, he did not develop any cough or running nose.
It was a tiring 2 weeks as Tessa had 4 days of high fever the week before. However, when her fever subsided, she started coughing and having running nose. Dr Ngiam told us it is nothing to worry about and he didn't want to "over-medicate" her.
I believe it is the wonder of breastmilk. Euan tends to recover much faster than Tessa. Now, I really regret stopping Tessa on BM at 5 mths...shd have persisted longer. Too late to do anything now. We are pulling her out from school for the month of Nov... I will only send her back in Dec. Hopefully her body will regain back her normal immune system by then. Some mummies told me I should continue to send her as it is by falling sick that they build stronger immunity... strange but I don't think so.... not this way....

TCM

Decided to bring the kids to a "kids TCM" outlet. It was an interesting experience. After the Chinese Physician examined both of them, they were sent off for a "tiu na" session. I was told to continue for 3 sessions. So we had no choice but to bring them back for 3 days. There were given a "medicine packet" to be tied to the waist. Off course we had to buy a waist band for them. After a few days with the medicine packet, I did not see any improvement. I am not sure whether I will bring them back again.

Annual Concert 09 - The Sound of Music

I was so excited to attend Tessa's CC annual concert 09. It was held on 6 Nov 09, Friday morning from 10.30 am to 12.30pm. It was a nervous morning as well as I had to send her to school by 7am! Unfortunately, hb was unable to attend Tessa's 1st ever concert performance as he was on reservist. My brother went with me to support Tessa.
Tessa almost didn't make it for the performance. She only attended school for 5 days out of the entire Oct 09. After her hospitalization in August, she went back to CC during the last week of August. After 2 weeks, she started having mucous again. Slowly, it developed into cough and 1 day, she was down with fever. With that, we stopped sending her to school again. Until the week before Euan's birthday, we sent her back to school again after she fully recovered. Who knows, after 3 days of CC, she was down with high fever again. This time, she had no other symptom. When her school teacher called me, I told them I will not send her in again for quite some time. But the principal suggested to me to let Tessa attend the full dress rehearsal on 2 Nov and then, on the concert day. She assured me (as well as Tessa's form teacher) that Tessa loves to dance. According to the teachers, eventhough she attended school for only 5 days in Oct, she knows her steps very well. I was still worried but decided to send her for the performance anyway as she seems to enjoy dancing.
To my pleasant surprise, Tessa appeared in 3 items! She is in the 2YO class. Her class combined with teh 3YO Justkids 2 together. She was the only 1 who completed all her steps! I am really amazed and so proud of her :) I have ordered her performance photos and DVD. Once I collect it, will upload the pics. Below were taken by me. As I sat way behind (coz I was late), I was unable to take many photos.
Tessa loves her outfit and when she saw me, the first thing she said was "mummy, I so pretty!" :) We also collected her artwork, which was displayed outside the concert hall.

Happy Together

Both of them also love to spend time with each other at times.... I always forget to snap a pic.... this is 1 of the few I have of them together which is clear!

New Home

Brought the kids to our new place for the 1st time.

Presents

Thanks to everyone who attended Euan's 1st birthday party! Euan received lots of presents! As for me, I bought a Handy Hub set from I'm Toy for my dear son :)

Both Tessa and Euan are fighting over toys nowadays... I have to keep reminding Tessa to take turns with her brother...But you will be surprise, Euan is no pushover. He bit Tessa's arm, pulled her hair during toy fights!! Unbelievable!
Below is Euan playing 1 of his pressie..... drum set!

Birthday Party Photos Part 1

Took me quite sometime to go through photos from 3 different cameras! Well, coupled with the fact that I have been extremely busy these few weeks, that's why a delay in uploading Euan's party pix. Part 1 will be the pictures taken by Rachel, while part 2 will be the photos taken by my brother and Tian.... It was unfortunate that both Tessa and Euan arrived at the party venue 45 mins late, else, i believe there may be more photos of them!

25th October 2009 - Sunday HAPPY 1st BIRTHDAY EUAN!!!!

Can't believe it has been a year since I gave birth to Euan! My darling baby boy is now a toddler! We had a birthday party held on the actual day - 25 Oct 09, Sunday! Thanks to Andrew who kindly helped me booked the function room of his condo, I managed to find a good location to hold the party.
Still don't really have time to go through the photos.....just a quick upload of the video during cake cutting and a pic of the birthday cake......more photos to come in the next few updates...

Mickey Mouse

Tessa requested for this Mickey Mouse soft toy when we walked past a 7-11 store 2 weekends back. I bought it for her and she loves it! After washing it, she has been sleeping with him every night.
Who would have thought that Euan absolutely loves the MM soft toy too! He will be so excited and hug it everytime laughing happily. He walks around carrying this huge toy with him (almost same height as him!) This, unfortunately resulted to a couple of fights as Tessa cannot let her brother have it most of the time.
I went to buy another one for Euan yesterday. Put it immediately in the washer and this morning, both are so happy that they have 1 each.

Euan at 11 mths 3 weeks

Euan now walks all over the house freely (almost) and he is enjoying every moment of it :)

Airport

A lazy Sunday and we brought the kids, together with my mum to the airport for dinner. Also to let Euan walk :)

Darwin's 1 YO Birthday Party

We were invited to Darwin's birthday party last Saturday evening at hillview avenue. It was good as there was no SM class :) Woke the kids up at about 5pm and headed down to the west! It was nice to see Esta, Lucas, Yu-Qi, Yu-Fei, Issac and off course the birthday boy Darwin! Didn't manage to take photos of each baby as was too busy managing Euan and tessa and also trying to catch up with the mummies...

Euan is now on Formula Milk

After going on for 11 months and 24 days, Euan is now on 100% formula milk. He was on total breastmilk for 10 months 7 days. After that, started to supplement him 1 FM per day, slowly increasing the amount for FM and reducing the amount of BM.

Goodbye to my last breastfeeding journey.....

Bites

Euan woke up on Monday morning with multiple insect bites and low grade fever. Rushed him to the PD and was told they were mozzie bites. Was only given some cream and no antihistamines to help his itch. By evening time, each bite was swollen to about 10 times its original size. My dad said those were bedbugs bites! We left Euan overnight at my mum's place while we sprayed the cot with insecticide. After googling about how to get rid of them, i bought a steam cleaner and a bed bug spray. I also called up the PD to report on his condition. PD adviced I can feed him with the antihistamine we have to help prevent the itch. His condition is much better now but you can still see the "bubble" on every bite. I hope they will heal fully soon. He stayed overnight at my mum's place for 3 nights before we dare to bring him home again. Wanted to throw away the mattress and cot but since we are moving again in less than 2 mths time...we really just need to use it for this period. Hope the bugs are all exterminated!!! Below is just 1 of the places he was bitten. Poor baby.. His face, arms, thighs, legs... sole, hands..... *sigh*

Tests

Tessa was sent for blood and urine tests last Friday when her fever came back after subsiding for a couple of days. The blood test process was horrible. She struggled so badly that the nurse later told me she will have a bruise as the "hole" was bigger than normal. Tessa complained of pain several hours after the procedure. She had high fever of 39.5 degrees the same night. Luckily, her fever subsided in the middle of the night and pretty much stayed low at 37.5 to 37.8 range for the next 2 days. Thereafter, her fever was gone. Thank goodness it was much easier to collect her urine. I showed her the container and told her what was needed. We brought her to the toilet and she allowed us to collect the sample while she urinated.
Below is a picture of the bruise 1 week after the procedure. I also took some photos of her usual cheerful self :)

Playing Together

Both kids now play together more often as Euan can walk. But they do quarrel over toys many times too....

Shoes & Pillows

Bought 3 pairs of shoes for Euan in a span of less than 2 weeks!
Also went to the Taka Anniversary sale and finally bought the Babysafe Toddler pillow for Tessa.

First Lesson

3 Oct 09 (Sat) marked Euan's 1st lesson in SM. Both sister and brother attended the Sat class at 4.15pm.

Tessa was so excited to see her brother also attending class together with her (they were both in different classes. Tessa in the 2YO class while Euan is in the 1YO class). Euan is the youngest in his class. I am still having doubts whether I should have started him 1 term later (but he would be in the 2YO class in Jan as they go by birth year). Anyhow, we will see how it goes. He definitely showed improvement in terms of attentiveness during his 2nd lesson.

Big Blocks

When fellow mummies told me Big Blocks was going for $139 plus free delivery...I just couldn't resist the temptation. Despite strong resistance from hubby, I went ahead to purchase it! *grinz* Space is a big problem in our new place (although the rented place now is huge), so, I had it delivered to my mum's place! :)

Bite

Euan puts everything in his mouth. Practically everything and anything! The way he chewed off the wood on his cot is scary... not sure when he will stop this....

Mid Autumn Festival - 2 Oct 09, Friday

Tessa's CC had a party to celebrate Mid Autumn Festival. We were told to be there at 6.30pm as there will be some performance by the children. It was a pot luck party and we had to bring food too! I totally forgotten to bring the lanterns along so hubby had to drive back home to pick them up (1 for tessa and 1 for euan) after dropping me, Euan and my mum off at the school. There were so many parents already seated with their cameras, viewcam all ready. The kids performed some songs and dance. After that, we all proceeded to have a walk around the neighbourhood with the kids lighting up the lanterns. Tessa also took home the lantern and mooncake she made in school home.

Children's Day 2009

Tessa's CC has a celebration on Children's Day. We were told to bring them in the morning in their party gear instead of their uniform.
She came back with some gifts from her teachers.

Walking video

Took this last night at my mum's. Too bad that Euan was distracted by some toy on the sofa. Hence, i did not manage to capture him walking the full length of the living room.

Euan can officially walk!!!

At 11 months, Euan can officially walk pretty well. He walked the full length of my mum's kitchen (for those who knows the traditional old 4-rm HDB where the kitchen is very very long..), held on to the side of the kitchen gate, stepped up the curb (with a little help), and continued to walk the full length of the living room! All by himself! Well done Euan!!! Mummy now must start shopping around for walking shoes to fit your little feet!
Hope to get a good video and post it here :)
